Portable Beam Coping Machine

The Gulf States Saw & Machine Co. CNC Beam Coping Machine has the lowest price in the world and is the result a strong and productive partnership with Voortman. Voortman is the largest manufacturer of structural steel fabrication machinery.

We have used more than 1000 CNC beam lines and angles lines around the globe and have found that even if the operator has never programmed a machine before they can be productive on it in less than half an hour.

Structural Steel is used for the construction of nearly every type of structure including bridges and buildings. The designs of these structures are subject to considerable variation. Steel beams must meet exact specifications as outlined in blueprints. Steel beams need to be cut to the proper size and thickness.

With the ABCM-1250 CNC beam cutting machine, achieve miter or straight cutting on a new level. In record time, place in-line with Voortman’s automatic sawing systems and separate beams.

Because the Voortman CNC Beam Coping Machine utilizes oxy-fuel, thickness of material is totally irrelevant and any material up to 6? can be coped.

It is an amazingly economical 5-axis CNC robotic oxy-fuel cutting beam coper that will enable you to make any type of cut on beams, channels, angels, plates, and rectangular tubes. Literally anything that you can draw, can be cut by this superbly versatile profile cutting machine. Not only does it cope, but it cuts to length too!

The PCR42 robotic plasma cutting machine does beam coping, notches, holes and weld preps, splits beams, and scribes plus marks on all four faces of H-beams, channels, angles, HSS and plates.

The Voortman can import DXF files and can use them to process 3-D shapes as long as the steel is detailed according to specific rules. Some of these rules might be different to the way you are detailing at the moment and might require some adjustment. This process is not nearly as seamless as the 3-D modeling software solutions above.

Ocean Machinery

A CNC beam coping machine is safer than a handheld torch. Remote operation of the machine allows the operator to control it remotely, which moves him further away from the cutting flame.

We provide service for all steel fabrication machinery. To schedule an appointment, please contact us.

Concrete Coping Beam

A factory trained service technician will spend around 5 days on-site installing your machine and calibrating it. This will give you hands-on training, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.

Voortman & Gulf States Saw & Machine Co. work together to offer reliable and affordable CNC solutions that will not only work but also be safe for your workers. The Voortman is constructed to the highest safety standards, using only the best components.

Beam Coping Machine Voortman

A CNC beam coping machine using a single torch can be referred to as a 5-axis machine. It uses one torch to complete all the coping. A single torch is used to coping a beam. It will first cut at the web then move onto the flanges. It will move from one flange to another in an ordered manner. The 5-axis torch has the ability to move in virtually any direction or position. This allows for complex and intricate tasks. The 5-axis torch will make double miter/bevel cuts to both the web and flange. Multi-torch systems can't do this.

While we always prefer that the machine is installed indoors, we do in fact have several Voortman beam coper installations outside. However suitable weather protection must be provided to the control panel and the machine itself. Please feel free to contact us to see photos from many of our outside installations.

Frequently Asked Questions

The ideal thickness for aluminum copings According to architectural fabrication manuals, a thickness of 2.00mm is recommended for coping widths of up to 550mm and 3.00mm for those that exceed 650mm. These are only guidelines.

Lightweight coping saws have a thin blade that is ideal for cutting intricate shapes and curves. Although coping saws can be easy to use, they can be intimidating.

To remove more wood from the back, angle the coping saw 30 degrees. Pro tip: Trimmings that have been cut with coping cuts can often leave thin, pointed tips. To prevent them from splintering, support the tips with your finger while you file, cut, or sand.

Coping is an architectural term that refers to the top course masonry used to "cape" an exterior wall's top. Coping can be sloped or curved to divert water away.

Fret Saws are also known as Jeweler's Saws. They are smaller than Coping Saws. They have shorter blades and are designed for maneuverability and quick turns. They can be used for metal work and woodwork if the blade is right.
